Catch up!

Image
The summer has flown by in a rather unusual way this year.....can't tell you exactly why the time has passed so quickly. Things that I wanted to do haven't been done...people I wanted to see haven't been seen........ I'm hoping to catch up this fall . After such a strange, and short! summer...I'm hoping for a beautiful long Fall. Grimes Update -- I fell off of the Grimes schedule for a while -- read the first two books in the Twilight Series - Twilight and New Moon - wouldn't have thought that these would be my cup of tea......Twilight was good, New Moon started to drag a bit but the ending was "you've got to read the next book to find out how they work this out!".....so I'll continue the series later. I also read "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" - classics that I thought I'd read at one point, but actually I hadn't.....thanks to Renee for giving me my copy! Another book recently read was &quo

Bucket List Event.......

Image
Last year I tried to get tickets to see the Moody Blues in Las Vegas -- couldn't get tickets. I tried to get tickets to see them in the UK while we were there last year -- couldn't get tickets. But my dear friend Dar let me know that they were coming to Toronto, to the Molson Ampitheatre....... guess where we were on Wednesday night.... Just in case you thought we were REALLY close to the stage, this photo will give you an idea of how far back we were.... but it didn't matter....the Moody Blues have been on my "Bucket List" of things I want to do for a long time.........and they didn't disappoint!

Chartwell - progress

Image
You'll notice that Chartwell is off the needles. Well, I'd noticed that I was "off" the pattern a bit -- I did a couple of extra 2k tog and hoped for the best but it was obvious things weren't working..... So I did the unthinkable - I ripped back in Kidsilk Haze! Lorraine , lace knitter extraordinaire had warned me about Kidsilk Haze -- don't try to rip it back she said....it's horrible to rip back...I think she might have used stronger language, but I got the message. So what's a person to do when they know they can't continue...and they can't rip back? Well, you stuff you mohair in the freezer for half an hour, let it get really nice and cold, and you rip back no problem.......did we discuss the freezer thing Lorraine? I can't remember.......... Wherever I picked up this little tidbit of info from doesn't really matter. The important thing is that it worked a charm! Happy Knitting

Wool is appropriate for anything!

Thank you to Miss Ewe , who sent this to Froggie Meanie , who sent it to me.......and since they weren't about to blog this, I decided I had to because it's so amazing! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1205007/Shepherdess-bride-marries-stunning-dress-wool-flock.html Happy Knitting

Chartwell - a new thing for me!

I haven't done a lot of lace knitting.....but I have totally fallen for Kidsilk Haze lately....and Rowan always seems to have something nice in Kidsilk Haze in their books.....Rowan 46 is no exception. So, I bought myself 4 balls of Kidsilk Haze in a shade called Jacob....it's actually a greeny gold browny shade........and it's lovely......and I've cast on......and I've given myself a deadline!!! Am I crazy or what?
